This webinar will share the learning from work focussed on understanding and aligning link workers and community capacity building. The Universal Personalised Care (UPC) strategy actions 8 and 9 focus on the recruitment and training of social prescribing link workers and helping build the capacity of communities to support the wellbeing of local people. Other ‘connector’ or ‘link worker’ models are operating in most areas and many organisations and initiatives are concerned with community capacity building in place.

All are warmly welcomed to this webinar hosted by C4PC, sharing an NHS England-commissioned piece of place-based work in York and Wakefield – testing and analysing effective ways to understand and align link worker and community strengthening activity.

This webinar will explain the key findings from the work and will provide an opportunity for participants to consider the relevance of those findings to their own work and to question an expert panel. A range of high profile speakers will be taking part including:

James Sanderson, Director of NHS Personalised Care at NHS England and Improvement and Chief Executive Officer at the National Academy for Social Prescribing

Sian Lockwood, CEO of Community Catalysts

Christiana Melam, CEO of the National Association of Link Workers

Merron Simpson, CEO of The Health Creation Alliance

Ewan King COO, of the Social Care Institute for Excellence

Joe Micheli, Head of Commissioning at York Council

Anna Hartley, Director of Public Health at Wakefield Council
